Our history

ΑΘΕΝS ICON coλλection is located on one of the most historic streets in Athens, founded in 1833 by the architects Kleathes and Saubert . In 1839 an Italian named Santo founded the coffee house “Orea Ellas” ( = Beautiful Greece) at the intersection of Ermou and Aiolou street, where it operated for 40 years and became the favourite spot of democratic Athenians .


The hotel has 12 rooms with city view that overlooks Ermou and Aiolou street. Two of our luxurious rooms facing Acropolis , the most famous monument of Greece . Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a rocky outcrop above the city of Athens ,and contains the remains of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical significance , the most famous being the Parthenon.
